Taking place from June 22nd to June 26th 2020, this online Bordeaux Summer School was open to graduate and doctoral students as well as professionals interested in the multidisciplinary issues raised by the COVID-19 epidemic in Africa, and it’s immediate and potential consequences for the continent.
Course content (delivered remotely) provided participants with a scientific background on the SARS-Cov-2 infection and the COVID-19 disease in Africa, as well as insight into how the response to the epidemic has been defined and implemented. Students acquired knowledge on the conduct of COVID-19 clinical trials, on food security and the impact of COVID-19 on the agricultural sector in Africa. They also gained expertise in critical thinking around social inequalities as causes or consequences of the epidemic and insight into the political governance of the crisis.
